History of the Denver Broncos logo:

A storied franchise that has won 3 Super Bowls, a huge 8 conference championships and 15 division championships along with 22 playoff appearances. They have been spoilt for choice when it comes to quarterbacks too. Having Hall of famers in John Elway and Peyton Manning who led the team to its last Super Bowl before retiring in 2015. They are currently going through a transition phase after years of success.

Starting way back in 1960 the franchises first logo drew a lot of attention. The first design was a white and yellow symbol as a football player, and he was seen riding a yellow bucking bronco. Just two years later in 1962 the franchise changed their logo. They changed it to an orange bucking horse with a football player in an orange uniform who was holding a football. The broncos also changed their team’s colours to royal blue, orange and white.

In 1970 the franchise changed its symbol; it was designed with a white horse seemingly coming out of the block letter D. The horse had steam blowing out its nose. This logo lasted 22 years until the franchise decided to change it again, although changes were minimal. In 19903 the white horse had a different black outline and different facial features and looked less aggressive. The large block letter D was the same as the last design.

The logo went through its most drastic change in 1997. It was a design that the storied franchise still uses to this current day. It was revealed on the 4th of February in 1997 and the navy blue replaced the royal blue colour on the team’s colour scheme. The current symbol is a profile of a white horse’s head that has a navy-blue outline and has an orange mane with navy-blue outlines.
